1. “To deliver thee from the way
of the evil man…”
a. To deliver [you] [Strong: 5337 natsal
naw-tsal' a primitive root; to snatch away, whether in a good or a bad sense:-
X at all, defend, deliver (self), escape, X without fail, part, pluck, preserve,
recover, rescue, rid, save, spoil, strip, X surely, take (out).]
b. from the way [Strong: 1870 derek deh'-rek
from 1869; a road (as trodden); figuratively, a course of life or mode of
action, often adverb:--along, away, because of, + by, conversation, custom,
(east-)ward, journey, manner, passenger, through, toward, (high-) (path-)way(-side),
whither(-soever).]
c. of the evil [man] [Strong: 7451 ra` rah
from 7489; bad or (as noun) evil (natural or moral):-- adversity, affliction,

+ exceedingly, X great, grief(-vous), harm, heavy, hurt(-ful), ill (favoured),
+ mark, mischief(-vous), misery, naught(-ty), noisome, + not please, sad(-ly),
sore, sorrow, trouble, vex, wicked(-ly, -ness, one), worse(-st), wretchedness,
wrong. (Incl. feminine raaah; as adjective or noun.).]
2. “…from the man that speaketh
froward things;”
a. [from the] man [Strong: 376 'iysh eesh
contracted for 582 (or perhaps rather from an unused root meaning to be
extant); a man as an individual or a male person; often used as an adjunct to a
more definite term (and in such cases frequently not expressed in translation):--also,
another, any (man), a certain, + champion, consent, each, every (one), fellow,
(foot-, husband-)man, (good-, great, mighty) man, he, high (degree), him (that
is), husband, man(-kind), + none, one, people, person, + steward, what (man)
soever, whoso(-ever), worthy.]
b. [that] speaketh [Strong: 1696 dabar
daw-bar' a primitive root; perhaps properly, to arrange; but used figuratively
(of words), to speak; rarely (in a destructive sense) to subdue:--answer,
appoint, bid, command, commune, declare, destroy, give, name, promise,
pronounce, rehearse, say, speak, be spokesman, subdue, talk, teach, tell,
think, use (entreaties), utter, X well, X work.]
c. forward things [Strong: 8419 tahpukah
tah-poo-kaw' from 2015; a perversity or fraud:--(very) froward(-ness, thing),
perverse thing.]
1). The description of this man goes further in the next few verses. Notice
in the 13th verse he was a former believer.
a). Proverbs 2:10-15 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and
knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

2:12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that
speaketh froward things;
2:13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to
walk in the ways of darkness;
2:14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in
the frowardness of the wicked;
2:15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward
in their paths:
