Proverbs 2:15

Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

a. NLT: Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong.

b. NIV: Whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.

c. YLT: Whose paths are crooked, Yea, they are perverted in their ways.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Who are crooked in their ways, wayward and devious in their paths.

e. Septuagint: Whose paths are crooked, and their courses winding;

f. Stone Edition Torah/Prophets/Writings: Whose ways are crooked and who go astray in their courses.

1. “Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:”

a. Whose [Strong: 834 'aher ash-er' a primitive relative pronoun (of every gender and number); who, which, what, that; also (as an adverb and a conjunction) when, where, how, because, in order that, etc.:--X after, X alike, as (soon as), because, X every, for, + forasmuch, + from whence, + how(-soever), X if, (so) that ((thing) which, wherein), X though, + until, + whatsoever, when, where (+ -as, -in, -of, -on, -soever, -with), which, whilst, + whither(- soever), who(-m, -soever, -se). As it is indeclinable, it is often accompanied by the personal pronoun expletively, used to show the connection.]

b. ways [Strong: 734 'orach o'-rakh from 732; a well-trodden road (literally or figuratively); also a caravan:--manner, path, race, rank, traveller, troop, (by-, high-)way.]

c. are crooked [Strong: 6141 `iqqesh ik-kashe' from 6140; distorted; hence, false:--crooked, froward, perverse.]

d. [and they] forward [Strong: 3868 luwz looz a primitive root; to turn aside (Compare 3867, 3874 and 3885), i.e. (literally) to depart, (figuratively) be perverse:--depart, froward, perverse(-ness).]

e. [in their] paths [Strong: 4570 ma`gal mah-gawl' or feminine mapgalah {mah-gaw-law'}; from the same as 5696; a track (literally or figuratively); also a rampart (as circular):--going, path, trench, way((-side)).]

1). Again, the whole context reveals this was a former believer.

a). Proverbs 2:10-15  When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
2:12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
2:13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
2:14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
2:15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
