Ephesians 2:13

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

a. NLT: But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.

1. “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”

b. now [Strong: 3570 nuni noo-nee' a prolonged form of 3568 for emphasis; just now:--now.]

o. blood [Strong: 129 haima hah'-ee-mah of uncertain derivation; blood, literally (of men or animals), figuratively (the juice of grapes) or specially (the atoning blood of Christ); by implication, bloodshed, also kindred:--blood.]

p. of Christ [Strong: 5547 Christos khris-tos' from 5548; anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:--Christ.]

1). Along with being without Christ these also are aliens from Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise. As we shall see in the next verse, those who were without Christ, because they are now born again have entered into covenant with God through  Christ Jesus.

a). Matthew 26:26-29  And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
