Ephesians 4:20

Ephesians 4:20

But ye have not so learned Christ;

a. NLT: But that isn’t what you learned about Christ.

b. NIV: That, however, is not the way of life you learned

c. YLT: and ye did not so learn the Christ,

d. Amplified Bible Classic: But you did not so learn Christ!

e. Worrell Translation: But ye did not so learn Christ.

1. “But ye have not so learned Christ;”

a. But [Strong: 1161 de deh a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).]

b. ye [Strong: 5210 humeis hoo-mice' irregular plural of 4771; you (as subjective of verb):--ye (yourselves), you.]

c. have…learned [Strong: 3129 manthano man-than'-o prolongation from a primary verb, another form of which, matheo, is used as an alternate in certain tenses; to learn (in any way):--learn, understand.]

d. not [Strong: 3756 ou oo, also (before a vowel) ouk ook, and (before an aspirate) ouch ookh a primary word; the absolute negative (compare 3361) adverb; no or not:--+ long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but.]

f.  Christ [Strong: 5547 Christos khris-tos' from 5548; anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:--Christ.]
