Ephesians 4:23

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

a. NLT: Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.

b. NIV: To be made new in the attitude of your minds;

c. YLT: And to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

1. “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;”

a. And [Strong: 1161 de deh a primary particle (adversative or continuative); but, and, etc.:--also, and, but, moreover, now (often unexpressed in English).]

b. be renewed [Strong: 365 ananeoo an-an-neh-o'-o from 303 and a derivative of 3501; to renovate, i.e. reform:--renew.]

c. in the [Strong: 3588 ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.]

d. spirit [Strong: 4151 pneuma pnyoo'-mah from 4154; a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively, a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ's spirit, the Holy Spirit:--ghost, life, spirit(-ual, -ually), mind.]

e. of your [Strong: 5216 humon hoo-mone' genitive case of 5210; of (from or concerning) you:--ye, you, your (own, -selves).]

f. mind [Strong: 3563 nous nooce probably from the base of 1097; the intellect, i.e. mind (divine or human; in thought, feeling, or will); by implication, meaning:--mind, understanding.]

1). Renewing the mind only comes when we begin to obey what we have been taught.

a). Ephesians 4:21-24 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

4:23 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
