And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

1). Isaac was a type and foreshadow of Christ. There is no question that physically Isaac could have overcome his father and prevented this. Isaac was probably in his late twenties or early thirties. Abraham was in his one hundred twenties or thirties. But Isaac willingly obeyed. This speaks volumes of their relationship and of Isaac’s trust toward his father and God. Just as Isaac willingly offered his life, so did Christ.
