Hebrews 8:12
For
I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their
iniquities will I remember no more.

wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness…”

of 3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative,

wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative
1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other

1). This is the New Covenant grace.
Under the Old Covenant sin was just covered they were not taken away.
a). Hebrews 10:1-4 For
the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those
sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers
thereunto perfect.
10:2 For then would they not have
ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had
no more conscience of sins.
10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a
remembrance again made of
sins every year.
10:4 For it is not possible that the
blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
2). The phrases under the Old
Covenant are wonderful but as great as they are they do not equal the absolute
forgiveness of the New Covenant.
a). Micah 7:19 He will turn again,
he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt
cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
b). Psalm 103:12 As far as the east
is from the west, so far
hath he removed our transgressions from us.
c). Acts 13:38, 39 Be it known unto
you therefore, men and brethren,
that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
13:39 And by him all that believe
are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law
of Moses.
3). Our sins are not just forgiven,
but praise God they are forgotten.
