Romans 8:15
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to
fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba,
Father.
a. NLT: So you have not received a
spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when
he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
b. NIV: The Spirit you received
does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit
you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
c. YLT: for ye did not receive a
spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye did receive a spirit of adoption in
which we cry, 'Abba -- Father.'
d. Amplified Bible Classic: For
[the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put
you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption
[the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)!
Father!
e. Worrell Translation: For ye did
not receive a spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received a spirit of
adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba, Father.”
