Romans 8:32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us
all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
a. NLT: Since he did not spare
even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything
else?
b. NIV: He who did not spare his
own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him,
graciously give us all things?
c. YLT: He who indeed His own Son
did not spare, but for us all did deliver him up, how shall He not also with
him the all things grant to us?
d. Amplified Bible Classlic: He
who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him
up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously
give us all [other] things?
e. Worrell Translation: He who spared
not His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him
freely give us all things?
1. “He that spared not his own Son…”
a. He that [3739 * hos, including feminine he hay, and neuter ho] [Strong:
probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article 3588); the relatively
(sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the)
other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc.]
b. spared [5339 * pheidomai]
[Strong: of uncertain affinity; to be chary of, i.e. (subjectively) to abstain
or (objectively) to treat leniently:--forbear, spare.]
c. not [3756 * ou, also (before
a vowel) ouk ook, and (before an aspirate) ouch] [Strong: a primary
word; the absolute negative (compare 3361) adverb; no or not:--+ long, nay,
neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy),
when, + without, + yet but.]
d. his own [2398 * idios] [Strong:
of uncertain affinity; pertaining to self, i.e. one's own; by implication,
private or separate:--X his acquaintance, when they were alone, apart, aside,
due, his (own, proper, several), home, (her, our, thine, your) own (business),
private(-ly), proper, severally, their (own).]
e. Son [5207 * huios] [Strong: apparently
a primary word; a "son" (sometimes of animals), used very widely of
immediate, remote or figuratively, kinship:--child, foal, son.]
2. “…but delivered him up for us all…”
a. but [235 * alla] [Strong: neuter
plural of 243; properly, other things, i.e. (adverbially) contrariwise (in many
relations):--and, but (even), howbeit, indeed, nay, nevertheless, no,
notwithstanding, save, therefore, yea, yet.]
b. delivered…up [3860 * paradidomi]
[Strong: from 3844 and 1325; to surrender, i.e yield up, intrust,
transmit:--betray, bring forth, cast, commit, deliver (up), give (over, up),
hazard, put in prison, recommend.]
c. him [846 * autos] [Strong: from
the particle au (perhaps akin to the base of 109 through the idea of a baffling
wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative
1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other
persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same,
((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves),
there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this
(man), those, together, very, which.]
d. for [5228 * huper] [Strong: a
primary preposition; "over", i.e. (with the genitive case) of place,
above, beyond, across, or causal, for the sake of, instead, regarding; with the
accusative case superior to, more than:--(+ exceeding, abundantly) above, in
(on) behalf of, beyond, by, + very chiefest, concerning, exceeding (above,
-ly), for, + very highly, more (than), of, over, on the part of, for sake of,
in stead, than, to(-ward), very. In the comparative, it retains many of the above
applications.]
e. us [2257 * hemon] [Strong: genitive
case plural of 1473; of (or from) us:--our (company), us, we.]
f. all [3956 * pas] [Strong: including
all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the
whole:--all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every
(one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole,
whosoever.]
1). God loves us the same that He
loves Jesus, not any less and not any more.

made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and
hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
3. “…how shall he not with him also freely give us all
things?”
a. how [4459 * pos] [Strong: adverb
from the base of 4226; an interrogative particle of manner; in what way?
(sometimes the question is indirect, how?); also as exclamation, how
much!:--how, after (by) what manner (means), that. (Occasionally unexpressed in
English).]
b. shall he…freely give [5483 * charizomai]
[Strong: middle voice from 5485; to grant as a favor, i.e. gratuitously, in
kindness, pardon or rescue:--deliver, (frankly) forgive, (freely) give, grant.]
c. not [3780 * ouchi] [Strong: intensive
of 3756; not indeed:--nay, not.]
d. with [4862 * sun] [Strong: a
primary preposition denoting union; with or together (but much closer than 3326
or 3844), i.e. by association, companionship, process, resemblance, possession,
instrumentality, addition, etc.:--beside, with. In composition it has similar
applications, including completeness.]
e. him [846 * autos] [Strong: from
the particle au (perhaps akin to the base of 109 through the idea of a baffling
wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative
1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other
persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same,

there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this
(man), those, together, very, which.]
f. also [2532 * kai] [Strong: apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative
and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.;

words:--and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore,
when, yet.]

1). The all things consist of our inheritance in Christ. Because we are
joint heirs with Christ, every thing that is his is ours.
a). Romans 8:16, 17 The Spirit
itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also
glorified together.
