Exodus 39:2

Exodus 39:2

And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

1. “And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.”

a. b. [the] ephod [Strong: 646  ʼêphôwd, ay-fode'; rarely אֵפֹד ʼêphôd; probably of foreign derivation a girdle; specifically the ephod or highpriest's shoulder-piece; also generally, an image:—ephod.]

c. [of] gold [Strong: 2091 zâhâb, zaw-hawb'; from an unused root meaning to shimmer; gold, figuratively, something gold-colored (i.e. yellow), as oil, a clear sky:—gold(-en), fair weather.

d. blue [Strong: 8504 tᵉkêleth, tek-ay'-leth; probably for H7827; the cerulean mussel, i.e. the color (violet) obtained therefrom or stuff dyed therewith:—blue.]

e. [and] purple [Strong: 713  ʼargâmân, ar-gaw-mawn'; of foreign origin; purple (the color or the dyed stuff):—purple.]

f. [and] scarlet [Strong: tôwlâʻ, to-law'; and (feminine) תּוֹלֵעָה tôwlêʻâh; or תּוֹלַעַת tôwlaʻath; or תֹּלַעַת tôlaʻath; from H3216; a maggot (as voracious); specifically (often with ellipsis of H8144) the crimson-grub, but used only (in this connection) of the color from it, and cloths dyed therewith:—crimson, scarlet, worm.]

h. fine twined [Strong: 7806 shâzar, shaw-zar'; a primitive root; to twist (a thread of straw):—twine.]
i. linen [Strong: 8336  shêsh, shaysh; or (for alliteration with H4897) שְׁשִׁי shᵉshîy; for H7893; bleached stuff, i.e. white linen or (by analogy) marble:—× blue, fine (twined) linen, marble, silk.]

1). The wisdom for all this craftsmanship came from God, who gave these men the ability and how to do these things.

a). Exodus 31:1-11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;
7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,
8 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,
9 And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,
10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,
11 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.
