Leviticus 12:5

Leviticus 12:5

But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

a. ASV: But if she bear a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

b. YLT: 'And if a female she bear, then she hath been unclean two weeks, as in her separation; and sixty and six days she doth abide for the blood of her cleansing.

c. Amplified Bible Classic: But if the child she bears is a girl, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her periodic impurity, and she shall remain separated sixty-six days to be purified [from her loss] of blood.

d. Septuagint:  But if she should have born a female child, then she shall be unclean twice seven days, according to the time of her monthly courses; and for sixty-six days shall she remain in her unclean blood.

1. “But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks…”

a. c. [a] maid child [Strong: 5347 nᵉqêbâh, nek-ay-baw'; from H5344; female (from the sexual form):—female.]

d. [she shall be] unclean [Strong: 2930 ṭâmêʼ, taw-may'; a primitive root; to be foul, especially in a ceremonial or moral sense (contaminated):—defile (self), pollute (self), be (make, make self, pronounce) unclean, × utterly.]

e. two weeks [Strong: 7620 shâbûwaʻ, shaw-boo'-ah; or שָׁבֻעַ shâbuaʻ; also (feminine) שְׁבֻעָה shᵉbuʻâh; properly, passive participle of H7650 as a denominative of H7651; literally, sevened, i.e. a week (specifically, of years):—seven, week.]

2. “...as in her separation…”

3. “...and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.”
