Matthew 21:16
And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

1. “And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say?”
a. 1). The reason they were sore displeased or indignant was because the children were calling Jesus the Son of David, which is a Messianic term for the Messiah. They were calling Jesus the Messiah.

1). Personally I feel the KJV is clumsy. I like the NIV “called forth your praise”. Or the Christian Standard Bible “You have prepared praise.”
2). Jesus was teaching here that praise is a vehicle of power, strength, and might. God ordained it to be that way. Praise is a foundational vehicle of power!
a). Psalm 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
