1 Kings 11:11

Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

a. ASV: Wherefore Jehovah said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.

1. “Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon…”

2. “...Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee…”

a. 1). This happened after Rehoboam was made king, and all the tribes except Judah rebelled against Rehoboam, and made Jeroboam king of israel. Rehoboam remained king of Judah and they became two separate nations (1 Kings 12:1-24).
