2 Chronicles 7:1
Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

1). Solomon’s prayer is 2 Chronicles 6:14:42. It was the prayer of didication for the Temple that he had built for the LORD.
2. “...the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices…”

1). This original fire from God out of heaven was similar to the original fire that fell burning up the sacrifice when the portable Tabernacle was dedicated.
a). Leviticus 9:22-24 And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.
9:23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the Lordappeared unto all the people.
9:24 And there came a fire out from before the Lord, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
2). This was the fire that the Lord commanded that it never go out. This original fire from God represented the presence of God.
a). Leviticus 6:12, 13 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.
6:13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
b). Deuteronomy 4:24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
3). It is a foreshadow of the fire lit in us when we got born again.
a). 2 Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands
4). No other fire is acceptable.
a). Numbers 3:4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the sight of Aaron their father.
