1 Kings 11:8

And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.

1. “And likewise did he for all his strange wives…”

a. e. wives [Strong: 802 ʼishshâh, ish-shaw'; feminine of H376 or H582; irregular plural, נָשִׁים nâshîym;(used in the same wide sense as H582] a woman:—(adulter) ess, each, every, female, × many, none, one, together, wife, woman. Often unexpressed in English.] [The KJV translates Strong's H802 in the following manner: wife (425x), woman (324x), one (10x), married (5x), female (2x), miscellaneous (14x).]

2. “...which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.”

a. [which] burned incense [Strong: 6999 qâṭar, kaw-tar'; a primitive root (identical with through the idea of fumigation in a close place and perhaps thus driving out the occupants); to smoke, i.e. turn into fragrance by fire (especially as an act of worship):—burn (incense, sacrifice) (upon), (altar for) incense, kindle, offer (incense, a sacrifice).] [The KJV translates Strong's H6999 in the following manner: incense (59x), burn (49x), offer (3x), kindle (1x), offering (1x), miscellaneous (4x).]

b. [and] sacrificed [Strong: 2076 zâbach, zaw-bakh'; a primitive root; to slaughter an animal (usually in sacrifice):—kill, offer, (do) sacrifice, slay.] [The KJV translates Strong's H2076 in the following manner: sacrifice (85x), offer (39x), kill (5x), slay (5x).]

c. [unto their] gods [Strong: 430 * 'elohiym el-o-heem' plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:--angels, X exceeding, God (gods)(-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.] [The KJV translates Strong's H430 in the following manner: God (2,346x), god (244x), judge (5x), GOD (1x), goddess (2x), great (2x), mighty (2x), angels (1x), exceeding (1x), God-ward (with H4136) (1x), godly (1x).]

1). It appears that Solomon was an equal opportunity idolater. Spreading his idolatrous worship around to all the false gods of his wives, who turned him away from God.

a). 1 Kings 11:3-8  And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord, as did David his father.

7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.

8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
