1 Kings 11:13

Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.

a. ASV: Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to thy son, for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.

1. “Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom…”

a. Howbeit [Strong: 7535 raq, rak; the same as H7534 as a noun; properly, leanness, i.e. (figuratively) limitation; only adverbial, merely, or conjunctional, although:—but, even, except, howbeit howsoever, at the least, nevertheless, nothing but, notwithstanding, only, save, so (that), surely, yet (so), in any wise.] [The KJV translates Strong's H7535 in the following manner: only, surely, nothing but, except, but, in any wise.]

b. d.
