And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

1. “And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men…”

2. “...out of every nation under heaven.”


a. out of [Strong: 575. apo apo' a primary particle; "off," i.e. away (from something near), in various senses (of place, time, or relation; literal or figurative):--(X here-)after, ago, at, because of, before, by (the space of), for(-th), from, in, (out) of, off, (up-)on(-ce), since, with. In composition (as a prefix) it usually denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal, etc.]


b. every [Strong: 3956. pas pas including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole:--all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever.]


c. nation [Strong: 1484. ethnos eth'-nos probably from 1486; a race (as of the same habit), i.e. a tribe; specially, a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually, by implication, pagan):--Gentile, heathen, nation, people.]

1). There were three feasts that was required by God to be kept in person in Jerusalem, Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles. Because these were celebrating Pentecost, Jews from all over the world were in jerusalem to celebrate.
