1). The lust of the eyes is loving the
world and not loving God.
a). 1 John 2:15-17 Love not the world,
neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love
of the Father is not in him.

lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of
the Father, but is of the world.
2:17 And the world passeth away, and
the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
2). When one follows the lusts of the

1). The Bible And Homosexual Practice,
Robert A.J. Gagnon, p .197. “On matters relating to sexual ethics Jesus often
adopted stricter, not more lenient, demands than most other Jews of his time.
In other words, his expectations regarding sexual purity, in some respects at
least, exceeded the expectations both of the Torah and of traditions prevailing
in Jesus day.”
