Acts 13:37

Acts 13:37

But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

a. NLT: No, it was a reference to someone else—someone whom God raised and whose body did not decay.

b. NIV: But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.

c. YLT: but he whom God did raise up, did not see corruption.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: But He Whom God raised up [to life] saw no corruption [did not experience putrefaction and dissolution of the grave].

e. Worrell Translation: but He Whom God raised up did not see corruption.

1. “But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.”

b. he whom [Strong: 3739 * hos hos, including feminine he hay, and neuter ho ho probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article 3588); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc.]

c. God [Strong: 2316 * theos: of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with 3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).]

d. raised again [Strong: 1453 * egeiro eg-i'-ro probably akin to the base of 58 (through the idea of collecting one's faculties); to waken (transitively or intransitively), i.e. rouse (literally, from sleep, from sitting or lying, from disease, from death; or figuratively, from obscurity, inactivity, ruins, nonexistence):--awake, lift (up), raise (again, up), rear up, (a-)rise (again, up), stand, take up.]

e. saw [Strong: 1492 * eido i'-do a primary verb; used only in certain past tenses, the others being borrowed from the equivalent 3700 and 3708; properly, to see (literally or figuratively); by implication, (in the perfect tense only) to know:--be aware, behold, X can (+ not tell), consider, (have) know(-ledge), look (on), perceive, see, be sure, tell, understand, wish, wot.]

f. no [Strong: 3756 * ou oo, also (before a vowel) ouk ook, and (before an aspirate) ouch ookh a primary word; the absolute negative (compare 3361) adverb; no or not:--+ long, nay, neither, never, no (X man), none, (can-)not, + nothing, + special, un(-worthy), when, + without, + yet but.]

g. corruption [Strong: 1312 * diaphthora dee-af-thor-ah' from 1311; decay:--corruption.]
