Acts 13:44

And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

a. NLT: The following week almost the entire city turned out to hear them preach the word of the Lord.

b. NIV: On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.

c. YLT: And on the coming sabbath, almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word of God,

1. “And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.”

d. came…together [Strong: 4863 * sunago soon-ag'-o from 4862 and 71; to lead together, i.e. collect or convene; specially, to entertain (hospitably):--+ accompany, assemble (selves, together), bestow, come together, gather (selves together, up, together), lead into, resort, take in.]

e. almost [Strong: 4975 * schedon skhed-on' neuter of a presumed derivative of the alternate of 2192 as adverb; nigh, i.e. nearly:--almost.]

f. the whole [Strong: 3956 * pas pas including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole:--all (manner of, means), alway(-s), any (one), X daily, + ever, every (one, way), as many as, + no(-thing), X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever.]

g. city [Strong: 4172 * polis pol'-is probably from the same as 4171, or perhaps from 4183; a town (properly, with walls, of greater or less size):--city.]

h. to hear [Strong: 191 * akouo ak-oo'-o a primary verb; to hear (in various senses):--give (in the) audience (of), come (to the ears), (shall) hear(-er, -ken), be noised, be reported, understand.]

i. the word [Strong: 3056 * logos log'-os from 3004; something said (including the thought); by implication, a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension, a computation; specially, (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (i.e. Christ):--account, cause, communication, X concerning, doctrine, fame, X have to do, intent, matter, mouth, preaching, question, reason, + reckon, remove, say(-ing), shew, X speaker, speech, talk, thing, + none of these things move me, tidings, treatise, utterance, word, work.]

j. of God [Strong: 2316 * theos theh'-os of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with 3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).]
