Exodus 37:1

And Bezaleel made the ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half was the length of it, and a cubit and a half the breadth of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it:

a. NLT: Next Bezalel made the Ark of acacia wood—a sacred chest 45 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 27 inches high.

b. NIV: Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood—two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.

1. “And Bezaleel made the ark of shittim wood…”

a. Bezaleel [Strong: 1212 * Btsal'el bets-al-ale' probably from 6738 and 410 with a prepositional prefix; in (the) shadow (i.e. protection) of God; Betsalel, the name of two Israelites:--Bezaleel.]

1). Unger’s bible Dictionary: The artificer to whom was instrusted the design and construction of the tabernacle and its furniture in the wilderness. For this work he was specially chosen and inspired by Jehovah. With him was associated Aholiab, though Bezaleel appears to have been the chief.

2). The Lord filled Bezaleel with a spirit of wisdom, understanding and knowledge to build everything in the tabernacle.

a). Exodus 31:1-11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
31:2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
31:4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
31:5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
31:6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;
31:7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,
31:8 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,
31:9 And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,
31:10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office,
31:11 And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do.

d. shittim [Strong: 7848 * shittah shit-taw' feminine of a derivative (only in the plural shittiym {shit-teem'}; meaning the sticks of wood) from the same as 7850; the acacia (from its scourging thorns):--shittah, shittim.]

e. wood [Strong: 6086 * `ets ates from 6095; a tree (from its firmness); hence, wood (plural sticks):--+ carpenter, gallows, helve, + pine, plank, staff, stalk, stick, stock, timber, tree, wood.]

2. “…two cubits and a half was the length of it, and a cubit and a half the breadth of it, and a cubit and a half the height of it:”

 a. two cubits [Strong: 520 * 'ammah am-maw' prolonged from 517; properly, a mother (i.e. unit of measure, or the fore-arm (below the elbow), i.e. a cubit; also a door-base (as a bond of the entrance):--cubit, + hundred (by exchange for 3967), measure, post.]
