Exodus 25:21

And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

a. NLT: Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark.

b. NIV: Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you.

c. YLT: 'And thou hast put the mercy-seat on the ark above, and unto the ark thou dost put the testimony which I give unto thee;

d. Amplified Bible Classic: You shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony [the Ten Commandments] that I will give you.

1. “And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark…”

b. the mercy seat [Strong: 3727 * kapporeth kap-po'-reth from 3722; a lid (used only of the cover of the sacred Ark):--mercy seat.]

c. above [Strong: 4605 * ma`al mah'al from 5927; properly, the upper part, used only adverbially with prefix upward, above, overhead, from the top, etc.:-- above, exceeding(-ly), forward, on (X very) high, over, up(-on, -ward), very.]

2. “…and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.”
