Exodus 25:11

And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about.

a. NLT: Overlay it inside and outside with pure gold, and run a molding of gold all around it.

b. NIV: Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold molding around it.

c. YLT: and thou hast overlaid it with pure gold, within and without thou dost overlay it, and thou hast made on it a ring of gold round about.

1. “And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it…”

a. thou shalt overlay it [Strong: 6823 * tsaphah tsaw-faw' a primitive root (probably identical with 6822 through the idea of expansion in outlook, transferring to action); to sheet over (especially with metal):--cover, overlay.]

b. it [Strong: 853 * 'eth ayth apparent contracted from 226 in the demonstrative sense of entity; properly, self (but generally used to point out more definitely the object of a verb or preposition, even or namely):--(as such unrepresented in English).]

c. with pure [Strong: 2889 * tahowr taw-hore' or tahor {taw-hore'}; from 2891; pure (in a physical, chemical, ceremonial or moral sense):--clean, fair, pure(-ness).]

d. gold [Strong: 2091 * zahab zaw-hawb' from an unused root meaning to shimmer; gold, figuratively, something gold-colored (i.e. yellow), as oil, a clear sky:-- gold(-en), fair weather.]

e. within [Strong: 1004 * bayith bah'-yith probably from 1129 abbreviated; a house (in the greatest variation of applications, especially family, etc.):--court, daughter, door, + dungeon, family, + forth of, X great as would contain, hangings, home(born), (winter)house(-hold), inside(-ward), palace, place, + prison, + steward, + tablet, temple, web, + within(-out).]

f. and without [Strong: 2351 * chuwts khoots or (shortened) chuts {khoots}; (both forms feminine in the plural) from an unused root meaning to sever; properly, separate by a wall, i.e. outside, outdoors:--abroad, field, forth, highway, more, out(-side, -ward), street, without.]

e. round about [Strong: 5439 * cabiyb saw-beeb' or (feminine) cbiybah {seb-ee-baw'}; from 5437; (as noun) a circle, neighbour, or environs; but chiefly (as adverb, with or without preposition) around:--(place, round) about, circuit, compass, on every side.]
