Romans 9:9

Romans 9:9

For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

a. NLT: For God had promised, “I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.

b. NIV: For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.

c. YLT: For the word of promise is this; 'According to this time I will come, and there shall be to Sarah a son.'

e. Peshitta Eastern Text: For this is the word of promise, I will come at this season, and Sarah shall have a son.

1. “For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.”

l. shall have [Strong: 2071 esomai es'-om-ahee future of 1510; will be:--shall (should) be (have), (shall) come (to pass), X may have, X fall, what would follow, X live long, X sojourn.]

m. a son [Strong: 5207 huios hwee-os' apparently a primary word; a "son" (sometimes of animals), used very widely of immediate, remote or figuratively, kinship:--child, foal, son.]
