 Genesis 8:20

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

1. “And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD…”


a. [And] Noah [Strong: 5146 Noach no'-akh the same as 5118; rest; Noach, the patriarch of the flood:--Noah.]


b. builded [Strong: 1129 banah baw-naw' a primitive root; to build (literally and figuratively):--(begin to) build(-er), obtain children, make, repair, set (up), X surely.]

1). Though the earth fell into apostasy, the blood covenant continued for over 1656 years after Creation, through Adam and his children (Genesis 3:21; Genesis 4:3-5). Here is further evidence.

1). The Genesis Record, Henry M. Morris, p216: Ever since Eden, the way of access to God had been through the offering of an animal sacrifice; accordingly, Noah had taken one extra animal of each “clean” kind on the Ark for this purpose. He proceeded immediately to build an altar 9possibly after descending to the lower slopes of Mount Ararat) and to offer up burnt offerings of every clean animal.
