Hebrews 7:7

Hebrews 7:7

And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

a. NLT: And without question, the person who has the power to give a blessing is greater than the one who is blessed.

b. NIV: And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the greater.

c. YLT: and apart from all controversy, the less by the better is blessed --

d. Amplified Bible: Yet it is beyond all dispute that the lesser person is always blessed by the greater one.

e. Worrell Translation: And, without any dispute, the less is blessed by the better.

1. And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

e. the less [1640 * elasson, or elatton] [Strong: comparative of the same as 1646; smaller (in size, quantity, age or quality):--less, under, worse, younger.]

f. is blessed [2127 * eulogeo] [Strong: from a compound of 2095 and 3056; to speak well of, i.e. (religiously) to bless (thank or invoke a benediction upon, prosper):--bless, praise.]

g. of [5259 * hupo] [Strong: a primary preposition; under, i.e. (with the genitive case) of place (beneath), or with verbs (the agency or means, through); (with the accusative case) of place (whither (underneath) or where (below) or time (when (at)):--among, by, from, in, of, under, with. h. the better [2909 * kreitton] [Strong: comparative of a derivative of 2904; stronger, i.e. (figuratively) better, i.e. nobler:--best, better.]
