John 17:3
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee
the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
a. NLT: And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.
b. NIV: Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true
God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
c. YLT: and this is the life age-during, that they may know Thee, the
only true God, and him whom Thou didst send -- Jesus Christ;
d. Amplified Bible Classic: And this is eternal life: [it means] to
know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the
only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as
the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.
e. Worrell Translation: And this is the eternal life, that they know
Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ Whom Thou didst send.

1). Eternal life comes from knowing God and Jesus Christ.
a). John 3:15-17 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have eternal life.
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but
that the world through him might be saved.
