Jeremiah 30:9

Jeremiah 30:9

But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

a. NLT: For my people will serve the LORD their God and their king descended from David—
the king I will raise up for them.

b. NIV: Instead, they will serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.

c. YLT: And they have served Jehovah their God, And David their king whom I raise up to them.

d. Amplified Bible: But they shall serve the Lord their God and [the descendant of] David their King, whom I will raise up for them.

1. “But they shall serve the LORD their God…”

b. the LORD [3068 * Yhovah] [Strong: from 1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:--Jehovah, the Lord.]

c. their God [430 * 'elohiym] [Strong: plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:--angels, X exceeding, God (gods)(-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.]

2. “…and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.”

a. and David [1732 * David, Daviyd] [Strong: from the same as 1730; loving; David, the youngest son of Jesse:--David.]

b. their king [4428 * melek] [Strong: from 4427; a king:--king, royal.]

1). I believe that David will be raised from the dead and will be the ruler of Israel under Christ Jesus. In the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established.

a) 2 Corinthians 13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

b). Based on the Old Testament precedent.

(1) Deuteronomy 17:6 At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

(2) Deuteronomy 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

2). Two witnesses.

a). Ezekiel 34:23, 24 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
34:24 And I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.

b). Ezekiel 37:24, 25 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
37:25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince forever.
