Hebrews 8:8
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold,
the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house
of Israel and with the house of Judah:
a. NLT: But when God found fault
with the people, he said: “The day is coming, says the LORD, when I will
make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.
b. NIV: But God found fault with
the people and said: “The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make
a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.
c. YLT: For finding fault, He saith
to them, 'Lo, days come, saith the Lord, and I will complete with the house of
Israel, and with the house of Judah, a new covenant,
d. Amplified Bible Classic: However,
He finds fault with them [showing its inadequacy] when He says, Behold, the
days will come, says the Lord, when I will make and ratify a
new covenant or agreement with the house of Israel and with
the house of Judah.

Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and the house

“For finding fault with them, he saith…”

placed on the Old Covenant itself, but in this verse the fault is on Israel.

8:9 Not according to the covenant
that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead
them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I
regarded them not, saith the Lord.

Jeremiah 31:31-34.
a). Jeremiah 31:31-34 Behold, the
days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house
of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
31:32 Not according to the covenant
that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring
them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an
husband unto them, saith the Lord:
31:33 But this shall be the
covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith
the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their
hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
31:34 And they shall teach no more
every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord:
for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them,
