2 Samuel 15:31

And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

a. ASV: And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Jehovah, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

b. YLT: And David declared, saying, 'Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom;' and David saith, 'Make foolish, I pray Thee, the counsel of Ahithophel, O Jehovah.'

c. Amplified Bible Classic: David was told, Ahithophel [your counselor] is among the conspirators with Absalom. David said, O Lord, I pray You, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness.

1. “And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom…”

e. [is among the] conspirators [Strong: 7194 qâshar, kaw-shar'; a primitive root; to tie, physically (gird, confine, compact) or mentally (in love, league):—bind (up), (make a) conspire(-acy, -ator), join together, knit, stronger, work (treason).] [The KJV translates Strong's H7194 in the following manner: conspired (18x), bind (14x), made (5x), stronger (2x), miscellaneous (5x).]

1). Ahithophel was one of David’s counsellors. The council of Ahithophel was highly esteemed.  

a). 2 Samuel 15:12  And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

b). 2 Samuel 16:23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.

I pray [thee] [Strong: 4994 na' naw a primitive particle of incitement and entreaty, which may usually be rendered: "I pray," "now," or "then"; added mostly to verbs (in the Imperative or Future), or to interjections, occasionally to an adverb or conjunction:--I beseech (pray) thee (you), go to, now, oh.]

e. 1). One of the things I pray when I pray for my children who are not serving the Lord. I pray and confess that the wisdom that they rely upon to turn away from the Lord will be made into foolishness.

a). 1 Corinthians 1:19, 20  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1:20   Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

b). Jeremiah 8:9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

c). Isaiah 44:24, 25 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
44:25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
44:26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
