And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

1). Ahithophel was one of David’s counsellors. The council of Ahithophel was highly esteemed.
a). 2 Samuel 15:12 And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

1). One of the things I pray when I pray for my children who are not serving the Lord. I pray and confess that the wisdom that they rely upon to turn away from the Lord will be made into foolishness.
a). 1 Corinthians 1:19, 20 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
