Deuteronomy 25:6

And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.

a. ASV: And it shall be, that the first-born that she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother that is dead, that his name be not blotted out of Israel.

b. YLT: And it hath been, the first-born which she beareth doth rise for the name of his dead brother, and his name is not wiped away out of Israel.

1. “And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead…”

a. [which is] dead [Strong: 4191 mûwth, mooth; a primitive root; to die (literally or figuratively); causatively, to kill:—× at all, × crying, (be) dead (body, man, one), (put to, worthy of) death, destroy(-er), (cause to, be like to, must) die, kill, necro(-mancer), × must needs, slay, × surely, × very suddenly, × in (no) wise.]

2. “...that his name be not put out of Israel.”
