And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him.

1). As spirit beings we not only have the natural senses of taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing, we have spiritual senses of taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing also. In Matthew 13:9 when Jesus said, “Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” He wasn’t referring to physical ears, he was referring to spiritual ears. The thirst referred to in Isaiah 55:1 is not physical thirst, its spiritual.
a). Psalm 42:1, 2 As the deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
b). Psalm 143:6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land.
2). The water that Jesus spoke about to the woman at the well is the exactly what Isaiah is speaking about.
a). John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
3).The English phrase “dull of hearing” is also used in Matthew 13:15 and in Acts 28:27.
a). Matthew 13:15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
b). Acts 28:27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
c). The Greek word used in these verses is bareos [917], and it means heavily, with difficulty. Both are from a prophecy in Isaiah 6:9, 10.
(1) Isaiah 6:9, 10 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
(2) It is necessary to see that if we just cite the passage from Isaiah it appears God made them that way and the blame falls on God. Yet when Jesus and Paul quoted the Isaiah 6:9, 10 verses I cited above, both Jesus and Paul placed the responsibility for the condition of the people upon the people themselves.
(3) In all three usages of the phrase “dull of hearing”, all three cannot hear spiritually. It was for this reason that Jesus repeatedly said, “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.” When we are not walking in the light that is revealed to us through laziness or disobedience we lose our spiritual senses. Samson walked in disobedience by lusting after women and lost his spiritual senses. He did not know the LORD had departed from him.
