Numbers 14:7-9

Numbers 14:7

And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

1). Joshua and Caleb begin their testimonies similar to the other ten spies, but where the ten unbelieving spies began spewing unbelief, Joshua and Caleb began talking God’s faithfulness and dependability of God.

a). Numbers 7:8, 9 If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
7:9 Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.

Numbers 14:8

If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

a. ASV: If Jehovah delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it unto us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

b. YLT: if Jehovah hath delighted in us, then He hath brought us in unto this land, and hath given it to us, a land which is flowing with milk and honey;

Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

a. ASV: Only rebel not against Jehovah, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is removed from over them, and Jehovah is with us: fear them not.

b. YLT: Only, against Jehovah rebel not ye: and ye, fear not ye the people of the land, for our bread they are; their defence hath turned aside from off them, and Jehovah is with us; fear them not.'

1). They are bread for us! We will chew them up and spit them out. This is faith talking. It is similar to what David said to Goliath, in response to what he was saying to David.

17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
17:46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
17;47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands.
