And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

1). The Genesis Flood, Henry M. Morris, p.210: Forty days later Noah opened the window and released a raven and (seven days later) a dove from the Ark. The dove returned; but the raven, a scavenger bird with no qualms about resting on unclean surfaces, stayed. A week later, Noah sent out the dove again, which return this time with a fresh olive leaf, indicating that seedlings and cuttings from the hardy olive tree were already beginning to grow again on the mountain sides.
