Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1. “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;”

[ye] stand [Strong: 2476. histemi his'-tay-mee a prolonged form of a primary stao stah'-o (of the same meaning, and used for it in certain tenses); to stand (transitively or intransitively), used in various applications (literally or figuratively):--abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set (up), stanch, stand (by, forth, still, up).

1). Perry Stone Hebraic Prophetic Study Bible: Here Paul writes a review of the resurrection of Christ and the eyewitnesses. First, Christ died (Luke 23:46), but arose on the third day (See Acts 10:40). Cephas (Simon Peter; see Luke 24:34) saw him, followed by the eleven. The 500 brethren at once (v. 6) may refer to those gathered on the Mount of Olives when Christ ascended to heaven (Acts 1:8, 9). James seeing Jesus (v. 7) is not reported in Scripture. Paul saw Christ in a vision on the road to Damascus (see Acts 26:13-19). Paul feels unworthy lto be listed with the other Apostles since he persecuted the church before his conversion (v9).
