 1 Corinthians 15:44

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1. “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body…” 

a. [It is] sown [Strong: 4687. speiro spi'-ro probably strengthened from 4685 (through the idea of extending); to scatter, i.e. sow (literally or figuratively):--sow(- er), receive seed.]

1). Paul here differentiates between physical and spiritual bodies. We live on this earth in natural physical bodies. When Christ Jesus rose from the dead he had a spiritual body. A body not governed by the laws of the natural world. His body was flesh and bone (Luke 24:39). At the rapture saints will receive a glorified body like Christ’s body. That is what Paul is describing in this passage in 1 Corinthians 15:35-49.

a). Philippians 3:20, 21  For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
