Corinthians 11:29
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth
and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
a. NLT: For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the
body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.
b. NIV: For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of
Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
c. YLT: for he who is eating and drinking unworthily, judgment to
himself he doth eat and drink -- not discerning the body of the Lord.
d. Amplified Bible Classic: For anyone who eats and drinks without
discriminating and recognizing with due appreciation that [it
is Christ’s] body, eats and drinks a sentence (a verdict of judgment) upon
himself.
e. Worrell Translation: For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats
and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the body.
