Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

1. “Now about that time…”

1). Robert A. Tourville, Acts: In Luke’s narrative, chapter 12 preceeds the trip of Barnabas and Saul with the relief for the Christians of Judea. In Acts 11:30, the contribution is being sent and 12:25 reports of their return to Antioch. The phrase, “Now about that time” does not mean to suggest that all in chapter 12 happened during the visit of Barnabas and Saul, but the collection was made over months and the missionaries went to Jerusalem after Herod’s death.
