7:18
For I know that in me (that is, in my
flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to
perform that which is good I find not.

that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t.

have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it

Classic: For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I

wish is present with me; but to do that which is good is not.

of the desires of lower man, the part that constantly works against the Spirit
of God.

holiness.

1). It is not until
we receive the grace that accompanies the New Birth that we will have the
possibility of victory of the law of sin and death.

law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

flesh, but after the Spirit.
