2 Corinthians 2:14


Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

1). The power and grace provided in the gospel is enough for us to triumph in every situation. This should be our confession, that God is always leading me in triumph!” I am a winner. I love what the Amplified says: “Christ always leads us in triumph as trophies of Christ's victory.” Glory to God.


2. “…and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.”


a. and [Strong: 2532 kaí, kahee; apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:—and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.

1). Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.


2). As we present ourselves to God in obedience, being in Covenant with Him, our lives will send forth a sweet smelling savor to God but also to people around us.


a). Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 


3). Although it is a different Greek word in Matthew 5:13, the verse demonstrates that part of our usefulness to God is that He can use us to spread the gospel and draw other to Jesus.


a). Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.


4). [NIV] “…and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.”


e. 1). Praise God that He allows us to be co-workers with Him in this great salvation. Not that we can save anybody for we can’t! But He uses us as we present ourselves to Him to draw other to Himself.
