Amos 1:14

But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:

c. Classic Amplified: So I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah [in Ammon] and it shall devour the strongholds of it, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

d. Septuagint: And I will kindle a fire on the walls of Rabbath, and it shall devour her foundations with shouting in the day of war, and she shall be shaken in the days of her destruction:

1. “But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof…”

d. [of] Rabbah [Strong: 7237 Rabbah rab-baw' feminine of 7227; great; Rabbah, the name of two places in Palestine, East and West:--Rabbah, Rabbath.]

e. [and it shall] devour [Strong:  398 'akal aw-kal' a primitive root; to eat (literally or figuratively):--X at all, burn up, consume, devour(-er, up), dine, eat(-er, up), feed (with), food, X freely, X in...wise(-deed, plenty), (lay) meat, X quite.]

f. [the] palaces [thereof] [Strong: 759 'armown ar-mone' from an unused root (meaning to be elevated); a citadel (from its height):--castle, palace.]

2. “...with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:”

d. [with a] tempest [Strong: 5591 ca`ar sah'-ar or (feminine) ctarah {seh-aw-raw'}; from 5590; a hurricane:--storm(-y), tempest, whirlwind.]

e.
