Jonah 3:4

Jonah 3:4 

And Jonah began to enter the city after a days journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

1). Jonah warned the city approximately between 784-772 B.C. The city was spared because of its repentance. The city though returned to its ungodliness and was again prophesied to be destroyed in Nahum 21-3:19 and Zephaniah 2:13-15. In 612 B.C. the city was destroyed so completely in 612 B.C., that it was 2500 years later before it was discovered by Sir Austin Layard and others in the nineteenth century (1800’s A.D.)
