Ecclesiastes 12:9

And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

1. “And moreover, because the preacher was wise…”

2. “...he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.” 

a. j. proverbs [Strong: 4912 mashal maw-shawl' apparently from 4910 in some original sense of superiority in mental action; properly, a pithy maxim, usually of metaphorical nature; hence, a simile (as an adage, poem, discourse):--byword, like, parable, proverb.]
