Job 42:16

After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.

1). The length of life points to Job living around the time of the Patriarchs. The term Patriarch means father-ruler and generally applies to the persons, Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Job’s age is similar to that of Abraham who lived 175 years. The only age that has been given to Job is found in the Septuagint where it says Job lived a total of 240 years (See above in different translations). Whether this is true or not, the long life points to a time around Abraham or immediately preceding. The last person to live 200 years was Terah, Abraham’s father (Genesis 11:32).
