Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

[and] your appoint feats [Strong: 4150 mow`ed mo-ade' or moled {mo-ade'}; or (feminine) moweadah (2Chronicles 8:13) {mo-aw-daw'}; from 3259; properly, an appointment, i.e. a fixed time or season; specifically, a festival; conventionally a year; by implication, an assembly (as convened for a definite purpose); technically the congregation; by extension, the place of meeting; also a signal (as appointed beforehand):--appointed (sign, time), (place of, solemn) assembly, congregation, (set, solemn) feast, (appointed, due) season, solemn(-ity), synogogue, (set) time (appointed).]

1). The Milstein Edition, Later Prophets, Isaiah; Rabbinic Commentary: The following verses imply that people brought offerings, observed the Sabbath and pilgrimage festivals, and prayed to HASHEM. Nevertheless, Isaiah charges that these acts were insincere and therefore unacceptable, as King Solomon said, The offering of the wicked is an abomination (Proverbs 21:27)...Such people come not to serve Him, but to trample [His] Courtyards. Not only does God despise their empty offerings, He is offended even by their presence.


a). Ezekiel 23:36-39 The Lord said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;

23:37 That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery, and have also caused their sons, whom they bare unto me, to pass for them through the fire, to devour them.

23:38 Moreover this they have done unto me: they have defiled my sanctuary in the same day, and have profaned my sabbaths.

23:39 For when they had slain their children to their idols, then they came the same day into my sanctuary to profane it; and, lo, thus have they done in the midst of mine house.


b). Jeremiah 7:8-11 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.

7:9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;

7:10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?

7:11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord.
