Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

1. “Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards…”


a. [Thy] princes [Strong: 8269 sar sar from 8323; a head person (of any rank or class):--captain (that had rule), chief (captain), general, governor, keeper, lord, ((-task- ))master, prince(-ipal), ruler, steward.]


b. [are] rebellious [Strong: 5637 carar saw-rar' a primitive root; to turn away, i.e. (morally) be refractory:--X away, backsliding, rebellious, revolter(-ing), slide back, stubborn, withdrew.]


c. [and] companions [Strong: 2270 chaber khaw-bare' from 2266; an associate:--companion, fellow, knit together.]
