In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

1. “In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment…”

a. [In a] little [Strong: 8241 shetseph sheh'-tsef from 7857 (for alliteration with 7110); an outburst (of anger):--little.]

b. wrath [Strong: 7110 qetseph keh'-tsef from 7107; a splinter (as chipped off); figuratively, rage or strife:--foam, indignation, X sore, wrath.]

c. [I] hid [Strong: 5641 cathar saw-thar' a primitive root; to hide (by covering), literally or figuratively:--be absent, keep close, conceal, hide (self), (keep) secret, X surely.]

[but with] everlasting [Strong: 5769 `owlam o-lawm' or lolam {o-lawm'}; from 5956; properly, concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), i.e. (practically) eternity; frequentatively, adverbial (especially with prepositional prefix) always:--alway(-s), ancient (time), any more, continuance, eternal, (for, (n-))ever(-lasting, -more, of old), lasting, long (time), (of) old (time), perpetual, at any time, (beginning of the) world (+ without end).]

b. kindness [Strong: 2617 checed kheh'-sed from 2616; kindness; by implication (towards God) piety: rarely (by opposition) reproof, or (subject.) beauty:--favour, good deed(-liness, -ness), kindly, (loving-)kindness, merciful (kindness), mercy, pity, reproach, wicked thing.]

c. [will I have] mercy [Strong: 7355 racham raw-kham' a primitive root; to fondle; by implication, to love, especially to compassionate:--have compassion (on, upon), love, (find, have, obtain, shew) mercy(-iful, on, upon), (have) pity, Ruhamah, X surely.]

e. [the] LORD [Strong: 3068 Yhovah yeh-ho-vaw' from 1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:--Jehovah, the Lord.]

[thy] Redeemer [Strong: 1350 ga'al gaw-al' a primitive root, to redeem (according to the Oriental law of kinship), i.e. to be the next of kin (and as such to buy back a relative's property, marry his widow, etc.):--X in any wise, X at all, avenger, deliver, (do, perform the part of near, next) kinsfolk(-man), purchase, ransom, redeem(-er), revenger.]

1). In these four verses I believe it is confirmed that this is referring to the Millennium and Perfect Age. 

a). Isaiah 54:7-10 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.

54:9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

b). The “small moment” “little wrath” refer to the church age. The “everlasting kindness” refer to the Millennium and Perfect Age. The reference to the waters of Noah give a never again to the wrath and rebuke. The mentioning of the “mountains…departing” give a New Heavens New Earth, Millennium and Perfect Age meaning.

1). John F. Walvoord, Every Prophecy of the Bible: In graphic language the future glory of Israel and Jerusalem was portrayed. She was compared to a barren woman who nevertheless has many children (Isaiah 54:1). She was told to spread out and settle in various cities because of her increased descendants. God described Himself as her “Husband--the LORD Almighty is His name--the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer” (Isaiah 54:5). Though Israel was abandoned for a moment, God promised to keep His everlasting covenant and shower her with everlasting kindness and compassion (Isaiah 54:7, 8). His treatment of Israel will be like His treatment of Noah and His “unfailing love for you will not be shaken” (Isaiah 54:9, 10). The fact that God will not need to rebuke israel again (Isaiah 54:9) described her millennial kingdom. Jerusalem will be a city built of precious stone (Isaiah 54:11, 12) which is similar to the description of the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21-22.”
