Deuteronomy 18:10

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

a. NLT: For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft,

b. NIV: Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,

c. YLT: there is not found in thee one causing his son and his daughter to pass over into fire, a user of divinations, an observer of clouds, and an enchanter, and a sorcerer,

d. Amplified Bible: There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire [as a sacrifice], one who uses divination and fortune-telling, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,

1. “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire…”

2. “…or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,”

c. observer of times [6049 * ‘anan][Gesenius: to make appear, produce, bring (clouds), to practise soothsaying, conjure, to observe times, practice soothsaying or spiritism or magic or augury or witchcraft, soothsayer, enchanter, sorceress, diviner, fortuneteller, barbarian,] [Strong: a primitive root; to cover; used only as a denominative from 6051, to cloud over; figuratively, to act covertly, i.e. practise magic:--X bring, enchanter, Meonemin, observe(-r of) times, soothsayer, sorcerer.]

d. or an enchanter [5172 * nachash] [Gesenius: to practice divination, divine, observe signs, learn by experience, diligently observe, practice fortunetelling, take as an omen.] [Strong: a primitive root; properly, to hiss, i.e. whisper a (magic) spell; generally, to prognosticate:--X certainly, divine, enchanter, (use) X enchantment, learn by experience, X indeed, diligently observe.]

e. or a witch [3784 * kashaph] [Gesenius: to practice witchcraft or sorcery, use witchcraft, sorcerer, sorceress.] [Strong: a primitive root; properly, to whisper a spell, i.e. to inchant or practise magic:--sorcerer, (use) witch(-craft).]
