Isaiah 61:4

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

a. NLT: They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago.
They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations.

b. NIV: They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

2. “…and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.”

Given that the first coming of Christ and the church age concern the first half of Isaiah 61:1, 2 up to the phrase, “to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD”, and the rest of the passage of Isaiah 61:2, 3 from “the day of vengeance of our God through the end of Isaiah 61:3; we can believe with a certain amount of confidence that some of the passages following are speaking of the events immediately after the second coming of Christ. Especially those whose message speak of things that not only haven’t occurred yet but contains things that could only speak of Christ’s kingdom.
