1 Corinthians 2:11
For
what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
a. NLT: No one can
know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know
God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.
b. NIV: For who
knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way
no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
c. YLT: for who of
men hath known the things of the man, except the spirit of the man that is
in him? so also the things of God no one hath known, except the Spirit of God.
d. Amplified Bible
Classic: For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through
a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one
discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit
of God.
e. Worrell
Translation: For who of men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the
man that is in him? Even so the things of God no one has known, except the
Spirit of God.
f. Wuest
Translation: For who is there of men who knows the things of the individual
person except the [human] spirit of the aforementioned individual person which
is in him? In the same manner also the things of God no one has known except
the Spirit of God.
